Information about the house

Waste sorting

Waste sorting is good for the environment, and sorting household waste is mandatory in Denmark.
To make this easy, there is a bag on the inside of the cupboard door under the kitchen sink for plastic and beverage cartons, and a green container for FOOD WASTE. Use the green compostable bags for FOOD WASTE.
Under the kitchen sink you will also find two separate boxes for PAPER/CARDBOARD and RESIDUAL WASTE.
When bags or containers are full, sort the waste into the outdoor bins in front of the house.
If in doubt, read the waste-sorting guide on the inside of the cupboard door under the kitchen sink.

Cot

A cot is available in the cupboard in family bedroom 2. Follow the instructions when setting it up.

Wood-burning stove

Keep the door closed while the stove is in use. Firewood can be purchased at SPAR, among other places. Only use dry firewood—never wood collected from the beach or forest. Use the metal bucket (NOT the vacuum cleaner) for cooled ash. Ash containing embers must never be placed in the outdoor waste bins.

Children and the pool

Children must not be in the pool area without adult supervision.

High chair

Two Stokke Tripp Trapp high chairs are available by the dining table. The safety rail can be removed when it is not needed.

Drinking water

Tap water is safe to drink everywhere in Denmark—especially in Klitmøller ;)

Electric car / EV charger

The charger is an 11 kW ORBIS VIARIS unit with a Type 2 connector. It is located at the front of the house by the main entrance.
Once the charging cable is connected to the car, start charging with the RFID tag located on the wall above the tumble dryer.
Charging an electric car from the house’s ordinary power sockets is not permitted.

Bottle and can deposits

Bottles and cans purchased in Denmark carry a deposit. Return them at SPAR to receive the deposit refund.

Gas barbecue

The gas barbecue is stored in the shed on the east side of the house. Move it to the terrace before use.
Clean the barbecue after use and return it to the shed.

Natural grounds (fire risk)

The house stands on natural grounds with vegetation that can become highly flammable during dry periods.

Garden furniture

On the terrace you will find a garden table, chairs and two sun loungers. Chair cushions are stored in the sauna.
Please bring the cushions indoors at night and when it rains, and return them to the sauna before departure.

Help with the holiday home

The holiday home is managed by NOVASOL. Call +45 3914 3022 if you need assistance.
NOVASOL services the pool once a week, usually on Wednesdays.

Dogs

Dogs are very welcome in the holiday home. However, they are not allowed on beds or furniture and should not be left alone in the house.
If dogs are loose in the house when NOVASOL arrives to service the pool, the technician will not enter and will leave a note instead.

As a general rule, dogs must be kept on a lead in nature areas. On the beach they may be off lead under control from 1 October to 31 March; from 1 April to 30 September they must be on a lead.
The nearest dog forest, where dogs may always run freely, is Vilsbøl Dog Forest.

Please remove pet hair and waste before departure.

Remember to lift the handle before turning the key. Otherwise, the key cannot be turned.

The holiday home has fast fibre internet. The Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password are printed on the router behind the TV unit.

Please clean the coffee machine after use.

Children must not be in the pool area without an adult.
Diving head-first is not permitted.
Never switch off the power to the dehumidifier or pool.

Pool service

NOVASOL services the pool once a week, usually on Wednesdays.
The arrival time varies and the visit takes approximately 15 minutes. NOVASOL has a key, so you do not need to be at home.
Please note that pool service will not be carried out if dogs are loose in the house.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

Smoke alarms

For safety, smoke alarms are installed near all bedrooms. If an alarm starts beeping, the battery probably needs replacing. Spare batteries are located in the upper-right section of the cupboard in the entrance hall.

Sauna

The left knob on the sauna heater is the timer, and the right knob controls the temperature.
For immediate use, set the temperature and turn the timer fully around and back until you hear a click. The sauna is hot after approximately one hour.
Do not pour water onto the sauna heater.

Bedding (what to do if it gets dirty)

All 10 beds in the house have fairly new mattress toppers, mattress protectors, duvets and pillows.
Bring your own sheets/bed linen or rent them from NOVASOL. Spares are available in the cupboards in case of accidents.

Please help us by washing any soiled duvets or pillows so everything is ready for the next guests.

Minor damage (if something breaks)

Please inform NOVASOL if anything in the house is damaged.
This helps us ensure that everything is in order when the next guests arrive.
Minor damage up to DKK 1,000 is covered by the house insurance.

Spa

The spa is designed for two people.
Follow the SunWac 3 instructions on the wall beside the spa.

Never use soap or shampoo.

Heating

The house has electric underfloor heating with a thermostat in each room. We recommend setting the thermostat to 2.1, corresponding to 21–22°C.
The pool is heated by an energy-efficient heat pump, saving approximately 66% energy.

Washing machine

You are welcome to use the washing machine.
Use it for your clothes, tea towels and towels, and please also help us by washing any soiled bedding.
This helps ensure that the next guests also arrive at a clean house.

The water hardness is 11, which is classified as medium-hard water.

We Care

Environmental responsibility is important in Denmark, so we have chosen to heat the pool with an energy-efficient heat pump, saving approximately 66% energy.
The pool room is also dehumidified using an energy-efficient Dantherm dehumidifier.

Using less electricity helps keep the cost of staying in the house lower for our guests.
